Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences : HELINET stands for Health Science Library and Information Network conceived by the University and successfully implemented which is first of its kind in the country. The consortium was started with a vision to improve the quality of education and research in the Health Science institutions of the state through enhanced access to high quality medical information. HELINET's goal is to deliver information to users' desk-top, with round-the-clock access.HELINET Mission is to network all the Health Science libraries for minimizing the cost of acquisition and maintenance of learning resources and maximizing their utilization among the faculty, students and researchers in the health science colleges and institutions.
Indian Council of Medical ResearchIt was started in 2004 and covers 1047 journals received collectively at 25 institutes/centres of the ICMR. In addition, around 189 open access journals are covered.
UGC InfoNet consortiaThe UGC-Infonet Digital Library Consortium was formally launched in December, 2003. It provides current as well as archival access to more than 7000+ core and peer-reviewed journals and 10 bibliographic databases from 26 publishers and aggregators in different disciplines to colleges and universities.
Indian National Digital Library in Engineering Sciences and Technology (INDEST) Consortium" was set up by the initiatives made by The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). It provides funds required for subscription to electronic resources for (48) institutions including IISc, IITs, NITs, IIMs and a few other centrally-funded Government institutions through the consortium headquarters set-up at the IIT Delhi. Besides, (59)Government or Government-aided engineering colleges and technical departments in universities have joined the Consortium with financial support from the AICTE.
MCIT LIBRARY CONSORTIUM Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) comprises of three departments those are Department of Information Technology (DIT); Department of Telecommunication (DOT) and ; Department of Post (DOP) . Each department has a number of PSU/Organizations/Autonomous Bodies. These organizations have their own Libraries, Documentation Centres and Information Centres to meet the information needs of their officials. Sometimes it has been observed that these libraries purchase common/similar information resources separately. Thus this consortia provides common purchasing and sharing of information resources among these organizations for the best utilization of their library budget as well as information resources.
DBT’S ELECTRONIC LIBRARY CONSORTIUM (DeLCON)
The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India has launched its e-Library Consortium on 1st January 2009. The aim of Consortium is to maximize access to large number of high impact journals by the Scientific Communities; NBRC is currently coordinating for the DeLCON
Developing Library Network DELNET was established in 1992 with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among libraries through the development of networks. It aims to collect, store, and disseminate information besides offering computerized services to users, to coordinate efforts for suitable collection development and also to reduce unnecessary duplication wherever possible. It offers a Union catalog of books etc.
