The health science librarians provide information resources to support health care. They encourage widespread use of health information among doctors, medical students, nurses, physiotherapists, dietitians, social workers and researchers.
The technological advancement has enabled libraries to move beyond the four walls of a building, as a result, we, the librarians strive to meet the health information needs of a larger community and try to amend health information delivery at every region, so that people live better, healthier, happier and more productive lives.

Have you ever looked upon....

Dear friends,

Have you ever looked upon a medical dictionary or a medical encyclopedia? You have some one in your family who is suffering from some infection. Like for example typhoid, doctors have asked for some tests- Widal test. You are confused what it is all about ? Where are you going to look upon. Libraries have printed dictionaries like Dorland's dictionary, Stedman's dictionary. Have you ever referred to them. You have got online dictionaries too. Have you ever checked upon the terms?

There are medical encyclopedias.Have you ever looked to these reference sources. NLM's Medline plus provides detailed information about diseases, medical conditions, tests, symptoms. Do look upon the trusted sources. Do check upon their spellings. Just like  what is aplastic anemia . You must try to find some information from these sources  to get some clarity. This will facilitate better understanding and then you will feel little better and will be able to express the conditions better to others.
