Off-campus access to NTRMEDNET planned

The NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), A.P is going to provide access to NTRMEDNET Consortium and Digital Library (NC&DL) for faculty and students beyond the libraries belonging to 43 medical colleges in the near future.
This online repository of medical learning resources and tools can, at the moment, be accessed only from computer terminals in the libraries of medical colleges which have secure Internet Protocol numbers for the purpose. The new idea is to enable users to gain access through their personal laptops and even smart-phones in the coming months.Read more HERE

Row over clinical trial as 254 Indian women die

NEW DELHI: The death of 254 Indian women from modest backgrounds in the course of a 15-year US-funded clinical trial has triggered a raging debate about its ethicality. The trial was for a cervical cancer screening method and the women who died were part of a control group kept without screening to study death rates in unscreened populations.   Read further on TOI and here
